Beyond the Thunderclone dome.....
Being new to this growing business, I figured it's a collection of skills with cloning being one of them.
So in the spirit of dicking around, purely to see what happens, I've taken the two lowest branches of the Sunset Sherbet, scraped the stalks a little, dipped in aloe vera, then organic rooting powder and into root riot cubes that had soaked in seaweed solution.
They then got put into....... The thunderclone dome.....
There's water at the bottom but the cubes aren't sitting in it. They are sat in their little root riot trays, just above the water level.
Yes they might die, there's no heat at the bottom, it will probably screw up, but I think dicking around for no reason is a great way to learn!
I'll update in a couple of weeks!

I don't know what you are talking about?!
I've raised them off the floor of the tent and cut the tips off some of the leaves, don't know why, just seen this done before! The dome will not be opened for two weeks now. Ah, the innocence of flying blind and making shit up as you go along!

Love it Tictok I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work, the reason why we cut the leaf tips is to help promote root growth and not use up all the energy feeding the leaves, by cutting them back they can still absorb enough light as to help the roots develop

That's great smokey, thanks, I figured it was something like that. I'm actually intrigued now if there is a chance it might work.Smokey wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 3:46 pmLove it Tictok I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work, the reason why we cut the leaf tips is to help promote root growth and not use up all the energy feeding the leafs, buy cutting them back they can still absorb enough light as to help the roots develop
It's completely illogical attempting to make clones when I've only got two small tents, that are filling up, but this growing bug has got me and I can't help it!

Re: Beyond the Thunderclone dome.....
So now there's a mk2, bigger, meaner and containing two RQS NL babies! I've moved them both to the flowering tent as it turns out a pipe runs underneath the tent that warms up when the heating is on. So there is hope!

Re: Beyond the Thunderclone dome.....
What I suggest, after some bad experience, is once the cuttings are rooted, to introduce them slowly to less humid environment.
I am saying this because, I recently had cuttings in my propagator and they were rooted..but I kept them there for longer than needed. Once I moved them in coco and out of prop they all wilted..
