setting up ecotechnics evolution

Post by BombayBudBoy »

Evening all

I recently got myself an ecotechnics evolution fan controller. I've just installed it and I'm just trying to get my head round a few things on it and was wondering if anybody was able to help? It has 3 leds on the front of it power (green) fans (blue) and heater (red). I've turned it on and the fans have came on and so did the blue led but then as I've adjusted the heater setting and let it store the red led then came on and so did the heater but as it was getting itself up to temperature the blue light went out and it sounded like the fans completely cut out? Is this supposed to happen? Seems wrong to me as I don't understand how this will maintain a constant vacuum. When I look in the manual though it's says something about there being 2 modes you can choose between which are 0P0 (when heater is on fans are off) and 0P1 (when heater is on fans are on) but underneath in big red writing it also says "please note in normal use the controller should be set to 0P0.

Didn't know if anyone had any experience with this and could shed some light?

Thanks people :thanks:

hey buddy. @GMO should be able to help as I believe he has one, but from what I read, you want to keep your extraction fan on. Currently, it sounds like it's set to the 0p0 setting where if your heater comes on your fan turns off while the other is on, which is sim to what my setup is but with a humidifier instead as my fan is never on if the humidifier is. So I guess if you want your fan on 24/7 you'd set it to 0p1 so you can have both on.

right on, ya need the secret user manual. there are 2 OP settings and one of which will kill the fans when the heating is on... i think you need it set to OP1 so that the fans stay on with the heater

ill see if i can find a link

I don't understand why it says that in normal use that the controller should be set to 0P0 instead though? Do I just pretend I haven't seen that or is it a safety measure?

Have heard alot of good things about them so had to try it out as will make life so much easier. One thing I may have fucked up on though is that I'm running an 8inch ac fan and a 6inch ac fan, both supposed to be silent but I'm getting a bit of a humming noise and I've just seen something about it being common over 6inches. Anyone had any history with this?
