BRF's New grow space, Quasi-stealth
Hey all!! So I was asked by a few and well I also wanted to share my new grow space and how it is coming along. I went through some design changes of course so let me start from the start.
So this was first idea and was going to do RDWC with all sorts of bells and whistles when I noticed major issues with the walls, light problems, and well nothing wanted to stay taped together. So I broke everything down but the frame and put on a new skin. THen Hydro said "hey dude, keep it simple" which made me go back to basics of DWC which I did for my last grow. I then got a heads up from GMO and a few that 2 ts600's might not be enough for the space so I said ok and ordered a third.
this is after the reskin. I then covered the whole space in cardboard and did a light check, none comes in so looking good so far. Then me and hydro got to talking about his cooling cil system and I thought, why the hell not? And started putting together an improved(I hope) sealed cooling coil system
each coil has an airstone in the middle that is being pumped with double air to excite cooling and add O2 to the water. I only need to fill the system and let it run when I get ready for the wet test to see temps. But the science is sound. I ran the lines through the bottom of the grow space and they will be under a cover of insulation so I am not worried about light leaks, also all passthrough spots will get a filler of black RTV.
Next I had to think of scrog frame and air movement, so I took my old frame and redesigned it to go around my tower fan but still allow for maximum scrogging. I will set this one at 12 inches above tote this should allow for 18-20 inches of stretch when I let them start coming up, I have some soft scrogs and yoyos if I need to support them after stretch.
I then ran all cables through allowing for range of movement on lights, and for all the air lines to come out to pumps that will be drawing in airconditioned air to further aid in cooling. One line also goes to my auto burping cure box that will be under the insulation cover and wrapped in a towel to keep it dark.
its the box in the front with two simple one way valves installed.
all power runs to my UPS which can handle the full load for about 30 min with the extractor fan installed(this will be the last piece put in above the center light)
and this is set up. Next is to fix the doors to it then extractor fan. Will do a wet test in a few days.
