I didn't think Coco would have been that difficult being that it's like soil, in a way it's what I have so I guess. I have to deal with it hopefully someone can help me out thanks, bud.
It's nothing like soil, mate. Being brown is about the only thing in common. :D

Coir is inert and needs to be fed far earlier than organic soil. With coir, you feed the roots. In soil, you feed the microbes which then feed the roots.

You know it won't last 5 minutes. It'll end up being more costly in the long run.

I'd say yes, go for it, if it was his only grow and in soil next time.

i have used cheap ec and ph pens in the past with no issues you can get unlucky sometimes but thats the risk you take when buying cheap 50% of my grow is using "cheap" parts

cheap tent
cheap reflector
cheap ballast

Coco is more expensive to set up for but you have so much more control. Ive been a soil grower for years, im on my first coco run now and will never look back. With coco the correct ph is essential as these plants uptake certain nutrients at different ph levels. Im no expert, one of the coco lot will be in soon to give you better info.

Coco is one of the best mediums to grow in and you can get amasing results. All you need is a proper pH and eC pens. BlueLab is the ones I recommend. You CAN grow without eC pen only if you have mastered your growing skills and know your tap water doesn't change and you are using the same nutrients over and over again. Even now I am still using my eC pen every time and I never get less than a Gram per Wat:)

They are extremely stretchy, mate. Your light is too far away - hence the stretch.

Do you put a bottle or similar over the plants? It's done to raise humidity.
