I think this is another of the practices that's different from grower to grower. In many years I've seen some who swear by this and many who think it makes no difference. I've tried both, not in side by side tests but with the same strain in same set up and have noticed no difference. I'm now hearing some are not flushing at all further making this idea redundant but that's the thing with growing, its 90% personal prefferences and experiments once the fundamentals are covered.

I personally dont think there is much to this but that doesnt say I'm right either.

The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

My advice is to play and try things with growing. It's where the fun comes in and how we progress as growers and a community. Every idea came from someone playing with a plant at some point.

I turn groom heater and feed/water heater off completely over the last week. Temps can be very cold! I've heard it helps with terpene production and I think it works. I haven't tried the dark method but I've heard that darkness reduces potency.
Not sure what's wrong and what's right as I can't prove it.

As everyone else has said, I think it is down to personal preference. I tried it once and i didnt notice any difference so didnt do it again...
Whatever floats your boat.

Temps are produced more at night. If you look under a loupe at night compared to halfway through the day you see a difference.
Being tropical by nature cannabis produces more temps as nights get longer and days shorter.
But remember in the tropics around harvest time our overnight low is 15-23 deg with a good breeze and humidity.

Nice topic and I know some who do and swear by it I had to half chop a plant before and chop other half two days later and noticed no difference..

And another preference thing is I use honey rather than molasses but again that's from just playing I found in my eyes makes a difference... try chop like a q or so before leaving em or her for how ever many days dark and see if you notice owt from buds looks , taste and smoke wise but would love to see what you think :D

Well said keeno experimenting is the way forward... I'm Still trying to get crack and grow in dog furr lol I will get there

Good luck buddy

Hello everybody
I think putting them through any major stress has been shown to increase trichome production
I follow Rasta jeff’s suggestion of putting them back into 18-6 for the last week. Thinking behind that is that it causes stress to increase trichomes, gets longer light cycle which is more energy and it’s too later in life to herm as it’ll cut down in days. But as a noob it’ll probably be something I drop in a few years. Ha.
