Security Self Defence

The EFF, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, are an organization that focus heavily on pricvacy and digital rights, and they put up guides on how to look after yourself online. Well worth a read for everyone, not just if you have something to hide.

I wouldn't rely on them as they are recommending Whatsapp. Whatsapp wants your phone number and owned by Facebook so for me, that's a no go. I'd go with wickr.me or telegram as most of the dark web member use them.

Can't argue with the links from @ncrypta.core there tbh. in general though, i tend to use signal/telegram on mobiles and keep most of my stuff offline or behind my firewall. Nothing wrong with the belt and braces approach just depends how much you have to hide and if you can be arsed.

in general terms i cant be arsed with much lol.

Signal is awesome if you're on android as it's your default messenger shame on ios it's just like WhatsApp as don't believe it can be your default one.

@Hmr81 you are right there my friend nothing wrong with keeping it simple even a simple browser with an addon does help, but then there are a time where you need the extra security depending on what subject you're looking for or when you are buying things. but then it's only one download and burn to USB.

i dont buy anything dodgy so its never been an issue. Havent been on the darknet since i was in R.Signals and its a load of crap, or 90% is anyway. Even something as simple as Brave as a browser is enough for my browsing tbh, ive had bloody every security device under the sun and after a while ive stopped using most of them as i dont have much to hide and what i do have to hide doesn't come with much of a prison sentence lol

I've never been on the dark web. I thought I was on there one day but I just had the brightness turned down on my monitor.
