Organic Seed Shell softener?

Post by Bulls »

Good morning GrowRoom420. I need some help. I know soaking or spraying the seeds(Speaking of sunflower seeds for example) with rhizotonic helps with softening the shell BUT what about something organic? I know some of you will say Rhizotonic is organic but it's in a bottle and to me anything that's in a bottle is not organic :idn: :Stoned:

Using a small match box lined with very fine sand paper.
Toss seeds in give a little shake around scoring the seed shell and then pop between wet kitchen roll

pmsl @Marcus you crack me up mate. Thanks guys. It's not about canna seeds , I need that for sunflower seeds and I'd need to soak about 500 grams at the time.

Why not just use water? (as long as it's not bottled.)

That's what I am currently using Aspie, soaking them in water, BUT the shells are not falling off easy of the sunflower shoots' cotyledons. It takes a lot of time removing them by hand when you have a few trays full of them haha

I've seen other people on different sites that say if it's in a bottle, then it's not organic, but never explained why. I cannot find anything on it. Why is it no longer organic if in a bottle?

Organic is no chemicals are added my man. Whether it's ecologically kind and has low carbon footprint 👣 is another matter :ak: :fight:

I soak mine in kelp juice extract and dechlorinated water. 100% success rate last time 24 hours soak then into jiffy or plugs or I use riot cubes.

After a few days, straight into the soil.

are you using a germ mat on the top of the seeds when germing a full tray? ive heard that sunflowers case off better if you put a weight on the cover so they have more resistance to push against, i think usually stacks of 6 trays is what ive seen
