Info on buds please!

Evening all! As I explained in my welcome post post I’m completely new to everything when it comes to cannabis, When it comes to me picking up bud what should I be looking for in a bud? Like colours? crystals? Anything specific wanna make sure I’m getting the best I can find. The current buds circulating my area is cookies and the old star dog. Thank you

The curse of the Cookies... some love it, some hate it. What I think most can agree on is the shit has infected most modern strains in flavour and structure.

Many growers are going back to oldschool when it comes to weed. A lot of the new stuff is nice, flavourful, very high in THC. But that's just part of the picture. Modern breeding has seen Breeders chasing yield and THC content, Cookies is a big part of this in recent modern breeding. The problem is by breeding for these reasons many traits have been bred out, or heavily watered down. The entourage effect is where this this subject will lead you. The rabbit hole is deep.

Quiet a difficult question to answer really as so many different strains out there. Best to grow your own and have no need to source it from anywhere. I would look at the odour and the trichs if not my own but that is not 100% , the only real way is to smoke it first. Then if you enjoy it get it.

Thanks for the quick replies guys! The end goal is to grow my own but that’s a long way from now I wanna do so much research and have a complete understanding on what I’m getting myself into so I don’t get stuck in the deep end.

My advice if you want to grow for the first time request a mentor to help you, you won't regret it for sure.
