Topping Vs LST on Autoflowers.

Yep! just got to read you're plants, some wont need topping or defoliating some will need both.

best bet is to take a few pics if your not shore, see what others think..

Well before i started topping and LST most grows 2 and half zips

After topping now and lst can get 6 zips on most grows if i pump the lights dry

avarge of 4 zips with normal light ie one running

lol, yer totally. Topping seems to reduce the amount of side shoots, and increase the size of the main cola's.

I've been getting 5 to 7 on average by topping at the 5th, with BlackScull's Auto Dawg. Seed stockers BigBud auto is also touching 6/7 on some grows. with out topping you get one main cola and load of laff....

i used to top at the 4th, had a few plants where the first never grow up to the light enough, so moved to the 5th and remove the 1st... seems to work quite well. I have one plant thats 2ft tall but 3 ft wide, might get a bit wobbly late flower as it packs on weight and need some string.

I find topping doesn't really change how big they get. i use both, top at the 5th node,then remover the first. and a tiny bit of lst if needed. Some plants wont need touching though if they don't get off to a vigorous start.

Sorry, just to add, I was reading a method that suggested to top until the second node as soon as it hits the fifth or sixth node. That's why I'm getting confused. But that might be an old method or used for fems? Maybe I'm getting confused. I'll have to read the guide properly lol

Tbh its really up to you. I remove the first as they dont tend to grow as strong as the rest. Also depend how dense the plant is. I aim for 6 strong nodes after topping. Just read the plant i would say...

From what I was reading in a guide, apparently if you top at the second node you get up to four main colas? Or if you do it at the fourth you get two? Maybe I misunderstood and it was very old info but seemed legit. I personally feel more comfortable with only taking one like you said but perhaps I'll experiment. Thanks for the info mate.

Sorry mate, I'm probably being dense, but could you explain what you mean? So she was growning out her fourth node and you topped her of how many nodes? And you say you removed bottom nodes? I'm struggling to understand haha.

Yh normaly 4th node wait few days then start LST mate spread her out
