Reducing floorspace by grafting cultivars onto a older rootball
Hey GR420,
So, I'm planning a little experiment and I would like some feedback, tips etc from the community.
I would like to keep two possibly three strains within my mother tent so I have a nice selection to choose from. I like to keep an night time and daytime smoke in my tubs as well as something exotic for little treats . The trouble is my mother room is 60cmx60cm! Sucks real bad I know :(
I have a fairly old plant that I was going to bin and rotate but after watching crap on grafting fruit trees on YouTube it got me thinking. Could I graft 2-3 strains onto one root stock and have one mother with multiple strains growing off her? This would make me very happy if it works!
Has anyone had any experience with grafting different strains? If so, we're there any gotchas or changes in the characteristics within the cultivar? From the brief research I've done it would seem that there shouldn't be any changes but I did read that some trees are grafted onto older root stock so they fruit short and makes it super easy for people to harvest because they didn't need a cherry picker or ladder.
Here's a picture of the legs of the root stock. A little thin but I think that could work in my favor.

I'd like to see this work.
I've never done any grafting, but I'll be watching cause this could be quite interesting.

If you reduce the amount of hash you consume in order to preserve your glass you've missed the whole point.
The hash is more important than the glass.

Haven’t tried it myself but it is easily done with weed plants. Been tempted to give it a go myself over the years

Wiz did this a while ago to some good success. Not sure if he ever took cuts the successful grafts though.

We can get swept away by our thoughts,,or learn to step back and see them with clarity.
Easy to forget its a choice

very simple process imo , have yourself heathly growing root stock plant to graft onto , your gonna want branches to be nice and developed , take your cut from donor plant cut bottom of it to v shape , cut same v shape onto host plants branch , stick em togeather , use grafting tape or cling wrap to close up site , i add tooth picks for suport , get yourself clear plastic bag mist insde it , put over the branch and tape bottok off tight to keep humidity high , leave for a month , i open the bag hear and there for some air exchange or to mist ,, plumbers teflon tape can also be used for the graftimng bandadge
