With the superb knowledge on this lovely forum I think we should get a list of any hacks we know that can help new and old growers alike.
1. Mix your pH down with water before adding it to your solution to help prevent going too far.
2. Silica is a great substitute for ph up.
3. Last night I realised if I turn my cake stand upside down when watering my plants and collect the run off it creates a little bannister to stop them tipping over.

Re: Grow hacks!
Nice idea!
Schwepps 1L Tonic bottles are great for hand watering, particularly if like me you have height restrictions and have tied you ladies down good and propper.... the long neck easily allows you to get into the middle of the pot and gir the girls a drink.

Re: Grow hacks!
This hack works when using mineral/chemical base ferts. So If your using silicon as an additive and not just as ph+ and your seeing milky/cloudy looking ferts no matter how much your stirring the mix together with rest of your goodies, well this is cus the silicon is causing your ferts to separate or not mix properly whichever way you see it. Don`t sweat it too much by starting afresh, a simple fix is to always ph down very last of all and then give your fert mix a good stirring, doing this the ph down/acid will bring the ferts all back together and clear as crystal again. Sound as a pound.
