hydroguard or oxyplus?

Hydroguard seems most beneficial but also brings microorganisms into the water, would that encourage gunk or promote algae better when light exposed on roots? Pretty sure u wouldn't use both together but what one would keep root rot/fungus at bay if temp went past 20°?

Never tried either. I am a fan of Growth technology liquid oxygen and pythoff. I use as a precaution but also use a chiller.

Even though they both achieve similar results, they take a completely different path.

Oxyplus is a hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and is very reactive. This is because of a chemical reaction that happens when you add it to water. One of the hydrogen atoms breaks off and becomes a hydroxy radical. These are short lived but kills germs and other nasties as well as add some DO into your water.

Hydroguard keeps bad bacteria and nasties away by adding select strains of bacteria that will hang about around the roots and keep the nasty bacteria away.

This is a very VERY basic explanation but gives you a rough idea.

Nomoli, that stuff looks like it tops hydroguard and oxyplus, have u used before and would u not say this stuff is the way to go? Lasts up to 5 weeks it says, does that mean you don't need to change rez water for 5 weeks as it adds disolved oxygen and h202 so instead just top up? Genuinely stuck between hydroguard and this silver bullet stuff now haha

I've literally started using it the past week my friend so it would probably be best to seek a longterm users opinion, but the science behind it does make sense. I'm not in full hydro like you though and I change my res weekly. Just thought it may be another optiin to have a butchers at

fired up a dwc the other night still struggling with temps sitting just above 20 been dumping coolbox ice blocks in the joys of loft growing

Fs mate that must be a lot of ice ur adding throughout the day, its all that insulation no doubt, u using hps I take it?
