Re: Rust spots on leafs due to LED board?
I had rust spots on my plant indoors where as not just the spots but like a powder that would rub off. I was ph at 5.8 5.9 ish but spoke with mention]Keeno[/mention] and I know there could be a few reasons why thus happens but I upped my ph to 6.2 and it seems it has stopped or slowed right down as the ph need to be higher to get the calcium or salt upped

Re: Rust spots on leafs due to LED board?
Hi @Benjic93
What are you feeding them? How much? What substrate are they in?
I found in the past when I started getting rust spots, I just upped the feed.
I was told by lots of people that I needed calmag when I started using leds... I never needed a drop of the stuff, the bottle is still unopened.

Cheers for that,
There in plant magic supreme soil
2ml old timers grow
0.5ml Bio sillicon
2ml root stimulator
(Per ltr) they get a 2ltr feed in there 12lt pots.
I did foliar feed them with the plant magic magnecal but it has seemed to kind of stained the leafs so probably won't be doing that again.
I'll up there feed on there next one then

I'd probably double check my ph pen is calibrated too.Benjic93 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 1:03 pmHey @MarcusMarcus wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 12:54 pmHi @Benjic93

But that seems like plenty of grub for them.
Just keep an eye on it. If it gets worse, then personally I'd drop the root stim and silicon and just feed the grow at 2.5ml/L ph'd to 6.5(ish) upping that to 3 or 4ml/L week before you flip them.
You'll get them dialled in soon enough. One or two farty bits on leaves ain't a problem in my tent, I just don't wear my glasses when I go to feed them and the issue is solved.
Good luck man!

Re: Rust spots on leafs due to LED board?
Agh to be honest mate I don't even PH. I didn't in my last grow and it worked out fine without issue. Just didn't know if it was the light causing it perhaps and I needed to give them something.Marcus wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 1:16 pmI'd probably double check my ph pen is calibrated too.Benjic93 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 1:03 pmHey @MarcusMarcus wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 12:54 pmHi @Benjic93

I'll see what happens and keep a eye on them. Doesn't seem to be progressing anyway.
Thankyou mate

Re: Rust spots on leafs due to LED board?
I think the leds push the plants along at a rate in some ways they may not be able to keep up with in soil, they can probably better keep up with them in hydro/coco, just a guess, but I get these rust spots, next grow I’m adding some Dolomite lime to the soil for magncal, hopefully that will keep them ticking along
