Shortest Autoflower?

Post by wutang »

Hey guys

I'm looking for anyone whos grown autos recently that were naturally short in height. Appreciate we can train them etc, but I'm going to experiment in my GQ60 as thats the only space I have indoors atm.

I have a selection of seeds from GR420 sponsors so I'm hoping I've got a few that people have already grown. Ill dig the names out later.

TIA

Wu

Pot size helps keep them short. The UK cheese i just did was a short one but Flips is really tall so sometimes its more pot luck.

I have had more sucess keeping plants small when doing photos

I suppose another thing I've read about is starting them on a 12/12 from seed. Not tried myself though

I grew a RQS Jack Herer in a GQ60 (pic below). My current 2 litre soils autos would also probably just fit in a GQ60

The main challenge was distance to lights.

If you are going to try it I would suggest:

Don't be afraid to do a lot of HST and LST, plenty of trimming etc. All will be needed to keep the plant under control and away from the light

I'd be aiming to use a small pot, as shallow as possible in order to maximise light to plant distance. You should be able to get a good bit of bud from a shall 2 litre pot. Maybe something like an ice cream tub?

Thanks @flip

Did you have the tent vertical or horizontal?

LEDs or HPS?

Extraction and fans?

Shit man, those buds look mad good!

Was it a soil grow?

*off to the fridge to finish the ice cream*

The last 2x indoor grows over done were all prity much about a 100cm tall, one that grew smaller and stockier, the ones I’ve grown outside seem to be about 60/70cm, these sizes are with topping at the 4th node. Keeping the light limited to 12/12 may keep its size down in veg and stretch and maybe bump it upto 18/20 hours on to fatten it up during flower light work, personally though I think a gq60 is too small to flower a plant to its full potential

Thanks dude. Fully appreciate it. It's just an experiment...I'm not after vast yields. Its just something I can keep in my room next to my desk whilst I'm working...reminding me of the more beautiful things in life :barmy:

😁, yeah man I feel you, give it a go is maybe go for 12/12 that should slow it down abit, also limit the light it gets what light you thinking of using?
