Bluelab ec pen calibration with 2.8mS solution

Post by wutang »

Hi there..

Thinking for th3 future I am going to get a bluelab ec pen. The vitalink cf 2.8mS solution is on offer at the moment so I was thinking of picking a couple of bottles up. However the vluelab calibration liquids are at 2.77mS

Presumably 2.77mS is the most appropriate for the pen. Just curious to see if anyone uses the vitalink cf buffer solution vs the 2.77Ms bluelab one.

Thanks
Wuuuu

I bought one these from Amazon for 18£ a few back, it works a treat, does lots of different readings as well not just ph, tds, ppm, temp and ec readings. A real bargain works like Roller man.

I use the crystal sachets to calibrate it, i bought a dozen or so. TBH i very rarely calibrate them unless i run into a problem.

Yes if its a pen type similar to one in picture it should calibrate bang on. The pen style are usually a little more accurate than the bluelab wands which jump up in 0.2 steps. Any of those buffer solution will do jobby just get cheapest, i presume its same stuff in bottle no matter who makers are. Ive used vitalink and gro-tecs 2.8 in past Wu. 8-)

All these electronics need to be verified from time to time. Best just get some solution and make sure its in check .

Dont think there's a way to calabtate the truncheons, I've had mine 5yrs and know people who've had a lot longer, something ive never read on any forums is that the Bluelabs has failed in any way
I've definitely had my moneys worth

I do that anyway. Always give the plain water a stir first,I've got a zero base ec, so as long as it doesn't light up I'm good to go
