Growroom Upgrade time! Looking for suggestions

Post by seymore_budz »

Wagwan GR420!

I'm a bit out of the loop when it comes to grow room hardware so asking the community for suggestions.

I'm about to scale things down to a single tent and will need to change the extraction system to something smaller and would like to upgrade my environmental controller at the same time.

Ideally I would like something like the Gavita EL1F controller that will control everything including the LEDs but I'm struggling to find one that will do all of that unless I make my own. Controlling the LED isn't essential though I'm just a nerd that likes the latest and greatest equipment to tinker with :)

Any suggestions are welcome.

Trolmaster Hydro-X Pro will do all of that.

If you have good WiFi, you could use a Swtchbot Temp / humidity sensor, the SwitchBot hub, and separate WiFi plug socket things for intake and extract,
Then link them up via IFTTT and set rules like

If temp is greater than 25c then turn on extract

    Really cheap and pretty reliable

Inkbird are also good for temp and humidity controllers! Not too expensive either but they do the job

My best buy for a long time was this variac style transformer, totally silent running. The guys in shop helped me out how to wire it up properly, i just raided bits i needed for it like male and female plug parts from an old crappy fan speed controller and , set it and leave, jobs a good en.

Thanks for all the help guys! After a bit of research, I'm pretty confident that I can get the Gavita EL1F to control the Lumatek Zeus LED lights thanks to the teolmaster documentation around their adapters. Both Gavita and Lumatek can make use of their 0-10v LMA-14 adapter and Lumatek offer a RJ45-ML12 conversion cable so I'm theory the Lumatek should plug n play with the gavita controller. If not, I'll return the Gavita controller and grab the Trolmaster controller and corresponding modules.

I'll pop a post up once I have everything in place ready to hook up.

    I use one of these:

    https://www.onestopgrowshop.co.uk/smsco ... oller.html

Also an infinity cloudline T4 with the auto speed controller which is a good one, very quiet.

I am due to try a Rhino Fan with a built in auto controller, then was slightly cheaper than the AC Infinity at around 80-90 quid i think.

My new groom wiill have a controlled environment up to a certain range so I can more easily control my individual tents, which is the theory. I will have a fan pulling air through a filter coming into a 12m^2 space, then 3-4 tents set up all with individual set ups. This in theory also makes in easier to control one tent seperate from another. I will have another fan pulling and srubbing the air coming out of the main aread too.

May sound a lot, but in theory I can run everything at much lower speeds and pull less electric.

Gas enviro controller and rev vector extraction, runs extraction fan and two other plug ins of your choice upto 600w each. Lights, heater, de/humidifier all programmable. I used to for temp and humidity control and a seperate digital plug fir the light. It works but i wouldn't pay rrp for it, cheaper options available to achieve the same thing i think. Hums if used with an ac fan but will run any ec fan
