No. It was raining, so we played lacrosse inside instead. One bloke went for a strike at the goal. I was standing in the way. Knocked me out cold.

We were one of the first schools in the UK to play lacrosse. No helmets at all. They brought them in after my accident - but only for the goalies.

No health and safety at my school. No PC stuff either.
Teachers would call you a cripple etc. You couldn't get away with it now.
